QuEra Computing, one of the leaders in neutral-atom quantum computing, has released its Quantum Readiness Report 2025, revealing that global budgets for quantum applications are projected to increase by nearly 20% in 2025. The report, based on a survey of over 750 quantum professionals worldwide, highlights growing confidence in quantum adoption, with 65% of respondents feeling prepared to adopt quantum within the next two to three years.
Despite this optimism, challenges remain, including high costs (51%), talent shortages (45%), and unclear return on investment (45%). Organizations are prioritizing cost-effectiveness, access to cutting-edge technology, and cloud-based solutions as key factors in their quantum adoption strategies.
The report also identifies significant regional disparities, with the U.S. leading in quantum adoption due to strong government funding, academic excellence, and private sector innovation. In contrast, only 14% of respondents view the EU as a leader, and just 2% see the UK as competitive in the global quantum race.
From a technological perspective, neutral-atom quantum computing (33%) and superconducting qubits (31%) emerged as the most promising technologies for scalable applications, with industries leveraging quantum for molecular simulations in healthcare and risk optimization in finance.
