IonQ has announced the launch of its first European quantum computer, Forte Enterprise, hosted at its new data center in Arlesheim, Switzerland, through a partnership with QuantumBasel. This marks IonQ’s first quantum system for commercial use outside the U.S., providing local access to its most advanced quantum capabilities for European enterprises, governments, and researchers.
Forte Enterprise operates at an algorithmic qubit count of #AQ36, surpassing its previous target of #AQ35. Each AQ increment doubles the computational capacity for quantum algorithms, with #AQ36 enabling simultaneous consideration of over 68 billion possibilities. This milestone positions IonQ at the forefront of the quantum computing industry.
The compact and efficient Forte Enterprise system, designed for data centers, supports diverse applications, including logistics, finance, pharmaceuticals, and artificial intelligence. QuantumBasel plans to integrate the system into its ecosystem, fostering quantum innovation and development across various sectors.
IonQ’s expansion into Europe, complemented by its facilities in Washington, D.C., and Seattle, reflects its commitment to advancing quantum adoption globally. This achievement underscores IonQ’s leadership in bridging cutting-edge quantum technology with practical, enterprise-level applications.
