LuxQuanta, a European Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) manufacturer, has secured a notable victory in the European Innovation Council (EIC) Accelerator program, receiving s €2.5 million grant. Co-founded by Dr. Sebastian Etcheverry and Dr. Saeed Ghasemi in 2021, and led by CEO Vanesa Díaz since 2022, LuxQuanta’s success underscores its innovative prowess in quantum cryptography. Out of 1,083 proposals, only 42 companies were selected, highlighting the rigorous vetting process of the EIC Accelerator.
LuxQuanta’s achievement not only emphasizes its technological advancements but also positions it as a reference in Spain’s innovation landscape. The funding, which includes the €2.5 million grant, will also include an additional equity investment from the European Investment Bank (EIB). These funds will fuel R&D activities, particularly focusing on optimizing their commercially available system, NOVA LQ®, and advancing Continuous Variable Quantum Key Distribution (CV-QKD) technology. With ambitions to become the leading European QKD manufacturer, LuxQuanta aims to secure a quantum-safe future through strategic partnerships and widespread technology deployment.
