Origin Quantum Computing Technology Co, based in Hefei, has unveiled Origin Tianji 4.0, China’s fourth-generation fully self-developed quantum control system, marking a major milestone in the country’s drive toward scalable quantum computing. Designed to support over 500 qubits, Tianji 4.0 builds on its predecessor used in the Origin Wukong quantum computer and introduces substantial upgrades in integration, automation, and signal precision, serving as the “neural center” for managing quantum chip operations.
The Tianji 4.0 system introduces a modular and standardized engineering model that transforms complex quantum chip calibration into a process executable by general engineers, rather than specialists. It tightly integrates with Origin Quantum’s four proprietary software systems, significantly improving control accuracy and testing speed. This development positions China to move from one-off prototypes to replicable and iterative engineering—essential for the industrial-scale production of hundred-qubit superconducting systems.
With over 380,000 tasks processed and 26 million users served globally through the Origin Wukong system, Origin Quantum’s ecosystem is already among the most widely accessed in the world. The launch of Tianji 4.0 not only supports China’s upcoming next-generation quantum computer, but also strengthens its broader ambition to establish a fully self-controlled, scalable “China solution” in the international quantum technology race.
