Q-CTRL, a global leader in quantum technology development, has announced a partnership with Hamad Bin Khalifa University’s College of Science and Engineering (HBKU CSE) to advance quantum education and software in Qatar. As part of this collaboration, Q-CTRL will provide its cutting-edge quantum control infrastructure software to support HBKU CSE’s Qatar Center for Quantum Computing (QC2). This initiative aims to cultivate a skilled quantum workforce by integrating Q-CTRL’s software, including Black Opal for education and Fire Opal for performance management, into QC2’s educational and research programs. The partnership also seeks to foster academia-industry collaboration through internship opportunities and joint research projects. Dr. Saif Al-Kuwari, Director of QC2, expressed commitment to developing future quantum leaders, while Professor Michael J. Biercuk, Q-CTRL’s CEO, highlighted the importance of leveraging Qatar’s talent pool. The rollout of software tools is planned for the latter half of 2024, marking a strategic investment in Qatar’s quantum technology ecosystem. A press release announcing this new partnership has been posted on the Q-CTRL website here.
