Quantum Machines introduces the MW-FEM, an advanced digital direct-synthesis (DDS) microwave front-end module for its OPX1000 quantum control platform, marking a significant milestone in quantum computing control technology. This industry-first module combines a processor-based controller with all-digital signal generation, enabling precise microwave signal generation in the 0.1 – 10.5 GHz frequency range directly from digital waveforms.
Key features include exceptional analog signal fidelity, best-in-class real-time processing with QM’s unique Pulse Processing Unit (PPU), and a compact design allowing for easy scalability. Each MW-FEM module provides 8 analog outputs, 2 analog inputs, and 8 digital I/O channels. Up to eight modules can fit into a chassis and multiple chassis can be combined to provide a means of controlling as many as 10,000 qubits. The MW-FEM’s release brings a significant increase in quantum control, offering researchers and quantum computer developers excellent performance and flexibility for advancing multi-qubit applications. The OPX1000 and MW-FEM will be showcased at the APS March Meeting in Minneapolis from March 5-7, 2024.
