QuEra Computing and Pawsey Supercomputing Research Centre have joined forces to advance quantum technology and supercomputing on a global scale. The collaboration involves the development of high-performance emulation software for simulating quantum circuits on Pawsey’s Setonix supercomputer, ranked as the world’s fourth greenest. Leveraging Pawsey’s expertise in high-performance computing and QuEra’s proficiency in quantum emulation, the partnership aims to accelerate research capabilities and pursue national government-sponsored quantum computing projects.
QuEra will grant Pawsey access to its neutral-atom-based quantum computers, located in Boston, facilitating collaborative research through quantum machine time, consulting services, and specialized training. QuEra’s Aquila-class quantum computers, featuring 256 qubits and innovative analog quantum processing, have been publicly accessible since November 2022. The collaboration emphasizes practical, focused innovation, anticipating more efficient solutions and accelerated discoveries at the intersection of supercomputing and quantum computing.
