IonQ has renewed its alliance with South Korea’s Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU) to continue providing access to IonQ’s trapped-ion quantum systems through SKKU’s Q Center. This renewal follows a Memorandum of Understanding with the South Korean government to promote quantum education and training. The alliance aims to establish South Korea as an international hub for quantum computing. Since 2021, researchers across South Korea have used IonQ’s systems for applications in quantum machine learning and chemical engineering. The renewal ensures continued access to IonQ’s systems for exploring solutions to complex challenges. This announcement is part of IonQ’s initiatives in South Korea, including a collaboration with Hyundai Motors on quantum computing projects. IonQ’s quantum systems are available through major cloud providers and direct API access. A press release provided by IonQ with this announcement can be accessed here.
