Aliro Quantum Chosen as the Controller for the EPB Quantum Network

2023-12-14T17:40:51-08:00

We reported last December on how utility company EPB was setting up a commercial quantum network in the Chattanooga, Tennessee metropolitan area using quantum communication equipment provided by Qubitekk and others. The EPQ Quantum Network will be made available to government, industrial, academia, and others who wish to experiment with utilizing quantum communications for various applications. EPB has now chosen Aliro Quantum's AliroNet™ software to provide the quantum network control capabilities. The software provides a network operator’s interface, to allow EPB operators to manage and monitor the physical quantum network infrastructure and enable end-users to define, validate, schedule, run and control [...]

QuantLR Introduces Its LoQomo 1 QKD Product for Quantum Cybersecurity

2023-12-14T17:40:58-08:00

The LoQomo 1 product is a Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) solution intended for telecom operators, data center service providers, critical infrastructure facilities, and government institutions. QKD used the laws to quantum physics to send unbreakable messages that are provably unbreakable. Israeli-based QuantLR believes that ultimately, this will be the only means to ensure secure encryption key distribution because the classical software based PQC approaches cannot be proven to be completely secure and might eventually be broken in the future. A key strategy for the company is to provide the most cost-effective QKD solution amongst all the other choices in the market. [...]

QuantWare Introduces a 64 Qubit Superconducting Quantum Processor Chip

2023-12-14T17:41:00-08:00

QuantWare is a supplier of components for those organizations that want to build up their own quantum processors. Their goal is to become the "Intel of Quantum Computing" and their customer base currently includes government labs, universities and others. The company indicates that customers who can build up a quantum processor using QuantWare's technology and other purchased components can do so at one-tenth the cost of purchasing a complete system from a vendor. Their latest announcement is a 64 qubit superconducting chip call Tenor. To handle all the signal wires that would be needed to control these qubits, QuantWare has moved [...]

European Commission Grants €5.6 Million ($5.95M USD) to the QTIndu Project for Quantum Workforce Training

2023-12-14T17:41:02-08:00

The three year project will be coordinated by QURECA SPAIN SL and will also include ten other academic, government, professional network, and industrial partners. In addition, two industrial consortia, the Quantum Valley Lower Saxony, and QuiC, the European Quantum Industry Consortium, will serve as advisors to the QTIndu project. The program will have the objectives of developing a nucleus of an end-to-end short-term training program in quantum technology for enterprises, developing tailored training programs specifically to the needs of companies in different business sectors, and providing a roadmap for scaling this to a wider scale in Europe. The Quantum Flagship program [...]

memQ Receives Seed Funding of $2 Million

2023-12-14T17:41:09-08:00

memQ has received seed funding from the lead investor Quantonation, Exposition Ventures, and the George Schultz Innovation Fund to develop of an on-chip quantum repeater built on the company’s solid-state platform for the quantum internet. A repeater is needed to send a quantum photon over a long distance over fiber optic cable and a key component for a quantum repeater is a quantum memory which can store a qubit's state for an extended period of time. memQ is using a rare earth based (Erbium) technology with their silicon-on-insulator platform to create this quantum memory. The company is currently being incubated at [...]
