Quantinuum Partners with Japan’s Cybertrust to Provide Hardened Private Keys for IoT Devices

2023-12-14T17:41:24-08:00

Cybertrust has integrated the Quantum Origin quantum random number generator (QRNG) product from Quantinuum into their certificate issuance and distribution platform for use by IoT (Internet of Things) devices. Cybertrust is Japan's first commercial certificate authority and will use this technology along with the NIST-selected post-quantum cryptography (PQC) algorithms for the certificates that IoT devices use to authenticate their connection to other devices. The Quantum Origin product uses quantum mechanical principles to develop very strong non-deterministic random numbers that can be used as cryptography keys. It is a cloud-hosted platform that makes it easy for an end user to use and [...]

QIC, QED-C, Q-STAR and QuIC Form a Consortium of Quantum Consortiums

2023-12-14T17:41:27-08:00

Several quantum industry consortiums have been established in the past few years to help promote the advancement of quantum technology within their country or geographic reason. Four of them have been meeting together informally for over a year and have now signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish the International Council of Quantum Industry Associations to have a more formal structure. The consortiums include Quantum Industry Canada (QIC) in Canada, the Quantum Economic Development Consortium (QED-C) in the U.S., the Quantum Strategic industry Alliance for Revolution (Q-STAR) in Japan, and the Quantum Industry Consortium (QuIC) in Europe. Each of the consortiums has similar [...]

SandboxAQ Wins an SBIR to Research Quantum Navigation Sensors

2023-12-14T17:41:27-08:00

SandboxAQ has won a Direct-to-Phase-II Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) from the U.S. Air Force to research and develop a quantum navigation sensor that can be used in GPS-denied environments. Phase II SBIR's typically are awarded in amounts up to $1,000,000 and typically last 24 months. SandboxAQ has been working on ultra-sensitive magnetic sensors that could potentially detect minute changes in the earth's magnetic field in different locations. By creating a map that records the magnetic fields ahead of time, an airplane flying over a particular area can later sense the field and compare it with the information on the map. [...]
