One of the buzzwords you hear from many software developers is “hardware agnostic”. Developers of Software Developer Platforms (SDKs) work to make their software as compatible with as many different hardware processors as possible while maintain the same top level programming interface. They do this by incorporating different backends for each of the processor while will allow the program to compile to the specific native gate set available in that processor. This makes sense because many users may want to try out their programs on several different processors to see which ones give the best answers. There is currently a diverse set of processors available and the best processor to use for a given problem may differ depending upon the specific problem. For software companies, this make sense because it mitigates the dependence of their revenue stream upon the success or failure of a specific hardware platform.

There has been a number of new SDK/Hardware compatibilities announced in the past year. So we have collected the ones that have been publicly announced and summarized them in the table below. If there are any additions or corrections required, please let us know and we will update this table.
