PASQAL is a Paris based quantum hardware startup founded in 2019 to develop quantum processors based upon ordered neutral atoms in 2D and 3D arrays. They will work with Professor Hannes Bernien at the Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering at the University of Chicago to develop new techniques for enabling high-fidelity qubit control. The aim will be to achieve superior scalability and the superior performance of PASQAL’s neutral atom quantum processors. Although the original technology used by PASQAL was based upon work done by the Quantum Optics – Atoms group within the Laboratoire Charles Fabry at the Institut d’Optique, this will be the company’s first collaboration with a university in the U.S. Additional information about this collaboration agreement can be found in a news release posted on the PASQAL website here.
