IQM and Keysight Will Partner to Research On-Premise Quantum Computing

2023-05-09T13:31:39-07:00

IQM and Keysight have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to research how quantum computing can be implemented on-premise for high-performance computing (HPC) applications. Most quantum computer today is performed on the cloud at specific facilities set up for hosting quantum computers. This is for several reasons including the size of the computers, various environmental and infrastructure requirements, close availability of the design engineers to debug any problems, and operational considerations such as service engineers availability and spare parts logistics. Partnering with Keysight may allow IQM to miniaturize their control electronics and make it more robust to lessen maintenance requirements. Unlike [...]

Qphox Signs A Second Deal to Network Superconducting Processors; Now with IQM

2023-05-09T13:26:46-07:00

We reported in June that Qphox is collaborating with Quantware to provide a way to network muiltiple superconducting processor chips together. They call their technology a  Quantum Modem™, a quantum transducer that will couple microwave and optical photons through a mechanical intermediary resonator. This allows qubit information to be routed through a room temperature fiber optic cable to a separate quantum processing chip. Qphox has now announced a partnership with Finnish company IQM, one of the leading quantum processor startups in Europe. Several companies are pursuing various forms of multiprocessing in order to scale up the number of qubits needed to [...]
